I personally like all of the movements out there. People are trying to take meaningful action at great personal sacrifice. But none of these movements are big enough or as effective as they need to be. That’s because making successful movements is HARD.

The Saners exists because we are trying to force change based on what research and history suggest are the most effective approaches. We, too, may not succeed. But we are filling a gap and have a real chance of success. We are nowhere near close—yet. But when these things succeed, they blow up from a frustrating invisibility to a major unstoppable force, seemingly over night.

I’ve read Andreas Malm—who was with Extinction Rebellion—and was frustrated. I have no anger towards any of these groups. I hope they succeed. But we must—each of us—try what we believe has the best chance. I believe that this is The Saners.
