I see things very differently but this is a very thoughtful piece. I'd like to make a few points.

1. Trump WAS president and chose NOT to go ahead with his Platinum plan. This was, I would suggest, not only because he didn't care about black people, but also because it would alienate his many racist supporters.

2. At the GOP convention, the crowd held up signs excitedly anticipating deporting 20 million immigrants. This, I would submit, is much worse than any part of the Biden/Harris immigration policy.

To be perfectly honest, I don't see how immigrants—even illegal immigrants—are much of a problem at all. They are just people.

I know all about Donald Trump and have since long before he got involved in politics. I lived in NYC in the 1980s. He was always a horrible person. I think he has "daddy issues" and should never be in a position of power. He should get help.

I do agree that no administration has done what needs to be done for black people, or for the climate, or for any number of issues.

We have systemic problems, largely a political system awash in corporate money and serving those elites is the focus of politicians of every stripe as a result.

But we also have a common problem, an existential one, that must be addressed now...and isn't being seriously addressed.

The climate is collapsing. Modern industrial civilization is rapidly turning our planet into a hostile hellhole. Continuing on this path, our children and grandchildren will live on a post-apocalyptic planet.

That is the problem that WE will need to solve first. By WE, I mean the sane and caring people of Earth, those who recognize the crisis and are aware that "leaders" and systems everywhere have failed catastrophically to deal with this.
