I support everybody. I make a distinction between what people DO (because people, including myself, make mistakes) and their value as human beings.

EVERY human being is valuable. Their judgements may be bad. Mine often are.

When I make bad judgements, and IF I have a meaningful impact on the world, I'd expect good people to try to stop my destructive or mistaken actions.

And I try to do the same.

The key things to do in the world are:

1. Feel and spread joy—otherwise, we are wasting our short, precious lives.

2. Humanize EVERYONE...we don't need to know everything about a person, race, sexuality, ideology, to make sure we and everyone appreciate the humanity in each person.

3. Try to stop bad actions and reduce the appeal of bad ideas.

4. Try to take good actions and make those more appealing so others will do the same.

It's really difficult to know the intent of people. We often don't even know our own intentions. But very, very few people actually want to be or see themselves as "the bad guy." Most people believe they are correct and their actions are good.

I don't go too far into intent. I don't know why people voted for Trump in such large numbers, but I expect that those reasons are multiple. I tend to think that these votes are motivated by anger, fear and ignorance...because that's what Trump loudly and visibly peddles.

But, in the world as they see it, the anger and fear is justified and the ignorance is really truth and wisdom.

I tend to lose patience with the idea that we have to take their views seriously, but we SHOULD take their suffering seriously. However, they are NOT suffering worse than, say, a pregnant woman who bleeds out because she can't get emergency healthcare.

Anyhow, The Saners view (and my view) pretty much match the enumerated points above. Although we emphasize that we all live on the same planet, and preventing climate collapse is paramount.

If I've made any mistakes, especially in understanding you, please correct me! Sometimes I'm still (unwittingly) responding to a previous comment by someone else and not really following the one I'm on now. That's a mistake I've made before and, sadly, will probably make again...
