I tend to think that ideologues of any stripe tend to amorality. That is, they believe their ideology is good and therefore cannot see any flaws in behavior required by it.

Nobody says “I am evil.” But they do say “greed is good” and then explain that it leads to more productivity and lifts all boats…or whatever.
