I think that we need to see the victims of every AK-47 mass murder. Right away. In full color on TV. Some say that this is cruel to the survivors, to their loved ones. I say it's cruel to those who will die because we hide these horrible acts, thus protecting future killers.
By hiding the horror, we facilitate its repetition.
I say that we show these things, we show the abuse of immigrants slashed and drowned by barbed wire. We show them confined in concentration camps. We need to show all the evil.
And not as video. As still images where we can see the wounds, see people's faces.
Remember the images from the civil rights movement? Racists, veins in their red necks bulging, screaming in the faces of black children? Remember peaceful protesters blasted with water canon?
When we ACTUALLY SEE these outrages, we react. We don't look away. We don't make excuses.
THAT is when we take action. THAT is when we demand justice. THAT is when we reject excuses.
Trump is an obviously sick, evil and dangerous person. He has many followers—but they are a minority. It is only due to the deeply undemocratic electoral college system that he has any chance to win.
WE must stand up and fight for what's right. I am personally fighting to preserve the planet for everyone's children and grandchildren. Our toleration and even protection of the fossil fuel industry has brought us to this deadly point. Climate collapse has begun and we have wasted way too much time.
We can stop fascism. We can stop mass murder by thugs and fools using firearms. We can stop climate collapse.
I'm personally working on the climate issue. Once the planet is a dead planet, all of the other crises become irrelevant. It's insane to destroy the planet we all live on. Let’s prevent it.
