I think we want to prevent the damaging acts. We could destroy refineries, for example. (Just a hypothetical, not a proposal.) An oil corporation’s CEO could be easily replaced. Replacing a refinery is more difficult. Physically harming a person is wrong AND strategically unwise. But I’d oppose it even if it was strategically useful.

And I don’t believe anyone can forfeit his humanity. But he can forfeit his authority and power and influence.
