I think you are largely right. People can’t easily see beyond the times they live in. I’m also pretty sure that, if our species survives, future generations will think were were barbarians for letting people go hungry just because they didn’t have enough money. And they’ll be right.
I’d like to think that future generations will be wiser than us, recognizing our bigotry as one of our negative qualities. That they will (rightfully) condemn our bigotry but see and judge our other qualities—good and bad—as well.
