I think you make some good points. I am not a vegetarian but I do believe they effective action against global warming and the climate crisis—IF we decide to make an effort to survive as a species—will require a sharp reduction worldwide in the production and consumption
of meat. That’s because raising livestock is a tremendously and growing destructive use of land. Rewilding huge amounts of land will be required to avoid ecocide and end the current Sixth Extinction before it takes its full and fatal toll. The cow fart are just an ancillary problem…. ;-)

It is true that vegetarian diets are unnatural. But so is living beyond 30.

Of course, we’d also need to quickly and sharply slash fossil fuel production and all major sources of CO2 emissions.

I personally like the idea of reducing animal abuse which is inherent in raiding animals to eat them.

That said, you make an intelligent and respectable case. Thanks for writing and sharing this!
