I, too, have an MBA which is why I understand fully the way Theresa sees things. But the idea that it's about humans and not the Earth is actually wrong.

Because we evolved to live on THIS Earth, our survival depends on NOT destroying it. But this strictly tech fix treats the Earth as if it's a machine, that we can use a kludge to keep it going. And really, just to keep US going.

Never gonna happen. That's MBA thinking. That's reducing the Earth to "natural resources" and people to "Human Resources." I get it. I had the same education.

But it's all wrong. Just as MBA thinking gets it wrong about the fundamentals of life—that it's always us against them—it gets everything wrong about the Earth, about how it functions, and our own place in the ecosystem. It is BECAUSE we are thinking and acting like MBAs that the Earth is in such dire shape to begin with.

We need to change our behavior and our values. We need to value life, and respect our planet. We need to behave accordingly. Yes, we can save our planet and ourselves—and it's impossible to save one without the other because we are part of the same system.

Most of us can't see clearly enough yet. We are fish in the sea and don't understand that water exists or that it sustains us.

But we are waking up. Even a myopic MBA like me can do it.
