I try to do more all the time to be environmentally responsible. I've never owned a car. I use minimal air conditioning. This year, I gave up beef. I walk everywhere. I'm planning to move into a smaller place, half the size of where I live now.

I think it's good that I do these things. But I have no illusion that it's enough. It can NEVER be enough.

Big problems needs to be fixed AT THE SOURCE. We need to force fossil fuel companies to shut down, to stop drilling and pumping and refining.

We need to stop the production of unessential plastics and all unessential goods. We need to shrink the population through attrition because the planet cannot accommodate 8 billion people.

We need to challenge the leaders and systems and assumptions that are powering the current ecocide.

So, yes, do useful—but largely symbolic—actions at the personal level. But the bulk of our effort need to be aimed at industrial-scale climate abuse.

Let's get together and get to work. Our children, and all the species on Earth, are depending on US.

We cannot work within the system because the system is designed to help the people who benefit from it—and to discourage us.
