I wish we could do that. But we through away 35 years by doing the exact opposite of what the climate scientists warned us we MUST do.

Now we have 2 options remaining, neither very attractive.

1. We could do what’s necessary at a painful breakneck pace to try to stabilize the climate, or
2. Surrender and let our children be swallowed up by the black hole of death we created.

I favor the former. And I think we can somewhat compensate for the (now) unavoidable suffering by making cultural improvements, by rejecting the shallow greed and fear and mistaken ideology that got us here. We can learn to live by the better angels of our Nature.

It’s tricky. We were all born into a society with self-destructive values. I’m not great at it, but I’m working hard to be better.

I’m getting old and my goal is, when I die, to be sad to go because the world has become such a beautiful place.
