People demand the ozone hole, and we must adapt to skyrocketing cancer rates.
We have been hearing claims that use of Freon and aerosols has created an ozone hole in the planet’s atmosphere. Some say that, as a result, cancer rates will be increasing sharply worldwide.
There has always been cancer and the rates vary naturally. But let’s just assume the ozone problem is real and that Freon and aerosols are the cause.
It’s really hot. It’s the hottest that it’s been in 120,000 years! You expect people to give up their air conditioners? Get real.
And aerosols aren’t going away either. For one thing, the Barbie movie has made hair spray retro hip. You may as well ask people to give up the color pink. It ain’t gonna happen.
Anyway, I think the problem has been exaggerated. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist. (I’m not saying it does exist, either.) My point is that an increase in cancer rates isn’t the end of the world. And modern medicine will eventually find a cure.
It’ll be fine. Don’t worry so much. You’ll scare the children.
