I'm a member of the older generation and I only HOPE that young people will openly revolt against work. The way our economy works—if it persists—will destroy the world that the next generation will inherit.
The climate catastrophe is a direct result of our economic and political system—fossil plutocracy. For decades, at least since James Hansen testified before Congress in 1988, authorities and leaders and anyone paying attention KNEW that fossil fuel use was leading us to a planet-wide disaster, an existential crisis. Our leaders chose to delay, deny and ultimately simply profit from their civilization-ending antics, their boundless greed.
In short, leaders and system everywhere have failed catastrophically for decades and are poised to finish us off. F-ck work under this system. We are producing mountains of commodified plastic crap and toxic fuels to enrich a few thousand profoundly unworthy people.
We need to stop, to remove them and their systems, and put climates scientists supported by sane caring people in charge of an emergency program to end the madness and save the biosphere.
