I’m committed to fighting climate collapse with everything I’ve got. And women have asked me what I thought about bringing children into this world. And I’m childless by choice.

So you might assume that I’m against people having children. I’m not.

But I do think think that, as a parent and a human being, you have an obligation to actively dissent from climate abuse, to make it difficult for oil companies and Wall Street and political grifters to destroy the planet that your children will inherit.

Otherwise, what will you tell your children? That you knew what was happening and did nothing?

At minimum you need to speak out repeatedly, regularly and forcefully. Whatever your efforts look like is up to you. But keep in mind: when the bigger storms and wildfires and heatwaves come—ones that are prefigured by what we are seeing today—you need to answer for the question: what did you do, mommy?
