I'm pretty convinced that nuclear is no better than it ever was, that all these expected breakthroughs are just profiteers blowing smoke.
Nuclear advocates don't like wind or solar because those forms of energy are unlimited and free. So they repeat ridiculous bullcrap like "the sun doesn't shine at night" and other nonsense like that. You know what? Sometimes nuclear plants are taken offline for maintenance—or because they meltdown causing a huge crisis of uncontrolled radioactivity raining down on, say, Europe.
Solar, wind, hydro and other alternative energy is available and workable and IN USE RIGHT NOW. And all of these technologies are getting better all the time.
The big thing is WE NEED TO GET RID OF FUCKING FOSSIL FUELS BEFORE THEY DESTROY THE HABITABILITY OF OUR CHILDREN'S PLANET.
