I’m sorry to say, but your interpretation strikes me as an excuse for cruelty in His name. I’m sure you mean well, but these kind of rationalizations make Jesus sound repulsive to me. And I don’t believe He is.

In defense of Jesus, He is not being quoted in Thessalonian 3:10. Those are not His words, but someone speaking about Him.
