It seems the most plausible reason why God doesn’t reveal himself is that He doesn’t exist. I’m not saying that he doesn’t exist—but that would be the simplest explanation.

And your idea that God revealing himself would cause chaos, and other problems, would be a stronger one if we weren’t in such dire straits right now.
