It seems to me that many churches have left Jesus and therefore to follow Him you must abandon the institutions that left Him.

I see nothing of Jesus in churches that focus on who they hate, on enforcing their will on others, on spreading bigotry and promoting violence. I find it astoundingly evil and distasteful and blasphemous when religious institutions attribute THEIR OWN HATEFUL IDEOLOGY to Him.
