I’ve read Steven Pinker and he’s a smart guy. So are you. But people have blind spots. We just disagree.

One of my favorite scientists of all time, Freeman Dyson, doubted the climate crisis. He was a great guy and his mistake didn’t make me like him less. And he was insightful and correct about many things.

Our plutocracy correlated with major advances in science and technology. And yes, people did escape poverty. But 1% of the people control a huge and growing percentage of the wealth—with most people fighting over scraps. THIS is the fuel feeding the culture wars. They are a great distraction allowing the wealthy few to continue burning fossil fuels, and finish destroying our children’s future…while deluding themselves over their imagined brilliance.
