I've repeatedly suggested that we produce much, MUCH less (only essentials like healthy food, medicine and the like) and free up people's time so they can live like human beings, and not as mere "means of production."
While we don't specifically target capitalism, we DO say that we must withdraw cooperation from any rules, laws or systems that threaten the biosphere and human well-being. So, that certainly includes pretty much all current political and economic systems—no major country or system has effectively addressed the climate crisis.
We try to keep it simple, so we can succeed in our key aims. I can tell you this: there's much more thinking going into what The Saners propose and promote than is stated explicitly. It's not that theirs some nefarious secrets—there aren't. But a whole lot of options and choices have been, and continue to be, evaluated.
The intent of The Saners isn't virtue signaling. It's preventing climate collapse and creating a better and more humane civilization.
Whether we succeed or not, the current civilization is going out—defeated by its own crushing stupidity. Authorities don't seem to recognize the obvious fact that you can't continue accumulating wealth and power on a dead planet.
But that truth will become unavoidable, whatever The Saners do or don't do. Our intend is to NOT wait for the collapse, but to begin our rescue NOW. This is very challenging but it's also obvious that time is of the essence.
As bad as it is, I still like our chances.
