King always had doubts about nearly every action he took—whether or not it was the best strategy or whether he was executing it properly. He made mistakes, but HE did not fail. WE failed, over the decades, to follow up and to continue the fight.
I failed. I failed to fight for equality. I failed to fight against the Vietnam war. I failed to fight against poverty.
I’m done failing to fight. Today, I’m fighting for all of us, for Nature Herself, for our children and for our souls. Because just as we all need equality and love—all of us—we need a healthy and habitable Earth.
I believe it’s time to renew the fight on all fronts. And I believe the fight will be won as King said it could—through love, not hate. The 3 billion people under 30 want decent and full lives; not a shortened life of struggle on a hellhole planet. The parents of these 3 billion want their children to have better lives than they had. And even old childless people like me want a better world than what we have now.
