Let me say this: I don’t know that you are wrong. I think there may be more than one way out of this. I would be THRILLED if what suggest comes to pass. I am not slamming the door on any well-intentioned effort.

The truth is I don’t know what will work. I only hope that SOMETHING does.

My plan is to try to mobilize the maximum number of people to ACT so that huge efforts—many different strategies—are fully tried. Simultaneously.

I will, of course, take the path that I think is most promising. But I will also cheer on the young lobbyists of the Sunrise Movement. I’ll cheer on the street actors like the Yes Men. I’ll root for Extinction Rebellion. I’ll celebrate the efforts of Th!rd Act. I’ll even hope that the climate work of Bill Gates and Elon Musk successfully contributes to protecting our damaged Earth.

And I will root for you and the markets, even with my doubts.

My movement is to build a million small groups, each with their own ideas and strategies. That we each make our best efforts and also root for each other. If one of us succeeds, we all should celebrate together. Just so SOMETHING works.
