Truth is obscured by lies we agree to tolerate.
We’ve been playing a big game of “let’s pretend” for a long time now. There’s a pattern of distraction and both sides agree to go down a blind alley instead of putting a spotlight on the obvious truth.
This holds for many issues. This is all part of the bigger game that says — falsely — that there is no such thing as reality. There are only opinions and mine is as good as yours. Or better.
Elections
While the GOP files and endless stream of nuisance lawsuits trying to establish that Donald Trump was defeated by fraud, and not the majority of American voters, the real scandal — which is visible in plain sight — is ignored.
The GOP — which is increasingly unlikely to be able to win a fair election — is trying and often succeeding in disenfranchising voters who oppose them. This isn’t new. This goes back to the Southern Democrats who prevented blacks from voting by intimidation and violence, and continued that behavior after the Democrats passed a Civil Rights bill and the Southerners all magically became Republicans.
Today, the GOP largely uses gerrymandering to control the House, and tries a variety of tactics at the (trickier) national level. For example, one GOP candidate wants to raise the voting age to 25 — obviously because young…
