Let’s simplify things. Our leaders and out systems—political and economic—are incapable of dealing with the crises they themselves created. They are out of their depth TODAY.

The solution isn’t going to be found within the existing leadership or existing structures. The extraction economy CAUSED the climate collapse.

We don’t know how much of our ruined Earth can be saved at this late date.

But the sane and sensible and caring people—ordinary people like you and me, more than a billion of us worldwide—need to defy and disobey and speak out against our leaders and systems and demand that climate scientists be put in charge of a worldwide emergency program to fix whatever can be fixed.

Since ordinary people do ALL the work (leaders and authorities are powerless without our obedience), we need to stop work, stop everything until this emergency program is underway.

And then we need to focus on mutual survival and well-being. Abstract crap like money and economics don’t matter. WE produce and distribute food, taking care of everyone. We don’t waste a second producing useless crap, various consumer goods. We don’t produce anything at all for profit. Money is worthless. It’s an abstract human invention which, ultimately, has been revealed to be a terrible mistake—along with competition and the glorification of greed.

WE need to take control and simply be good human beings. That’s it. That’s the secret. We went down a bad path. We need to stop abruptly and change course.

Time will tell if it’s too late, if anything can be salvaged. But there’s no doubt about our personal moral obligation to our children and our planet to do the right things NOW.
