Some of us are planning to fix things, and be joyous today—while we organize to make this stupid world better.
The politics of joy didn’t start with Kamala Harris, nor will it end with her defeat.
Millions of us are not defeated. Elections have consequences, but so does the decision of millions of ordinary people and what they choose to do.
WE choose to not cooperate with, not support, and not be a part of evil actions and cruelty. Leaders do nothing. They depend on us to do their dirty work. Some fools will obey them. Millions and millions will not. Our noncooperation will weaken them—and strengthen us.
As we prepare to organize and help each other—community by community, but also between communities—we will spread joy amongst ourselves and share this joy with those who are ready to accept it.
Yes, flash mob performances will be a part of the new world we are building. Let’s remember what joy looks and feels like—this will energize us going forward!
