Malky, this is the most important thing I've read in a long time. I'm the founder of a climate group that seeks to use nonviolent noncooperation to prevent climate collapse (and make other positive changes in the world.)
I think we need this tactic in place today, to oppose fascist fanatics everywhere. We have been letting them flourish, handing them the microphone, and empowering them to commit the most vile acts.
That must end.
We need to do what you suggest and more.
What do we need?
To TURN OFF and CLICK AWAY whenever we see, hear or read the names of the vile leaders in the world—immediately.
We must deny these criminals and their de facto media allies our attention, to profit from this evil. This includes media of every sort, and every alleged ideology.
I don't want to see or hear anything about or from Donald Trump from Fox or MSNBC. I want to only hear their opponents, and I will turn THEM off—Kamala Harris or whoever—when and if SHE mentions Trump.
We must VOTE FOR THOSE OPPONENTS IN LARGE NUMBERS to crush fascism everywhere. In the United States, we must vote for Harris and the Democrats.
What if the fascists win?
We need to begin shutting down any society in which they rule. Work slower. Call in sick. Make "mistakes." This is especially important in the fossil fuel industries: oil, coal and natural gas.
We must woo the police and all enforcement officials. We need to hold peaceful silent protests and hand flowers to those who are charged with (nonexistent) riots.
This is how societies save themselves. This is how we can save the world.
This is how we MUST save the world.
