Much of this is described in a book called The Sapience Curriculum. Most of this makes a lot of sense to me. But even without this viewpoint, it's pretty obvious that we live in a sick clueless and cruel "civilization" that is totally out of touch with the fact that we are animals living on a planet.
If we were sane, we'd take care of each other and our planet, instead of destroying both.
