Partly as a result, I’ve put a new emphasis on my own “house list” at my website WeAreSaners.org. People who sign up for my email list can choose to leave, but I won’t arbitrarily start giving them the silent treatment.

Social media—including Medium—are platforms controlled by someone else. You need a place where you can build AND KEEP your own audience.
