My followers are the max they’ve ever been, but my visibility—views and reads—has plummeted. I don’t know why. I’m not going to wrestle with it. I’m just going to write the important stories that I feel need to be written and shared. However, I will no longer give Medium exclusivity or priority.

I am publishing my best articles “First and Free” on my own blog. I’m going to try to grow my house list—which is already 4-5 times the size of my Medium subscriber list. I’m now publishing on Substack, too…

I have a podcast and a YouTube channel. Although I make a few dollars here and there, none of it is for money—it’s all for a cause I believe in: The Saners, my group using Gandhian strategies to protect the climate and establish a humane society.

Medium was and remains a tool. It is, however, a less valuable tool than before.
