My view has long been and remains that any system or authorities who fail to hand over a habitable Earth to the next generation has no legitimacy. That makes every major industrial power on the planet illegitimate: the United States, the countries of the EU, England, China, Russia, Australia, Japan and many more.

Everyone was warned decades ago by climate scientists what would happen if we didn’t quickly and sharply slash C02 emissions. It’s 2023 and C02 emissions are at record levels and STILL INCREASING.

This is catastrophic failure. None of those people or systems—plutocrats, dictators, whatever—should have any authority or influence whatsoever. They have shown themselves to be unwilling or unable to meet the challenges. Most of them are moral failures as well.

At this point, the people who have a legitimate claim to lead are sane caring people, including climate scientists and especially young people. We must disobey and sabotage the existing systems and leaders and replace them with a worldwide crash program to salvage what we can of the climate and hand over the critically damaged but perhaps survivable Earth that we might be able to stabilize.
