Neither authoritarian nor democratic governments have done what is required. Form of government doesn’t affect the climate. Sharply cutting CO2 emissions does. We must pressure everyone in a position of power and influence EVERY DAY to do everything possible against this existential crisis. What’s “politically feasible” is nonsense because the climate doesn’t care about politics.

I’m looking to cut my carbon footprint—I’ve never owned a car. And I work from home. I use minimal air conditioning. I hope to get a solar roof, a heating system that uses no fossil fuels. Can’t afford all this yet.

Whatever options are available to you may be different.

Let’s simply tell the truth—we slash carbon emissions sharply NOW, or accept that as a species, we have chosen suicide.
