The only legitimate authority is moral authority. You know who had "legitimate" authority? The racist American South with their legally passed Jim Crow laws. And Nazi Germany with their Nuremberg Laws.
WE must make moral judgements. Yes they are subjective, but if we care about human beings and our planet, we must protect both.
We are destroying the planet we live on because we are obedient to authorities: we continue on our catastrophic path of massive CO2 emissions. This is the cost of obedience to stupid, short-sighted, selfish morons.
