Niels—what you have written here is important and expressed well. I’m appalled that you don’t (yet) have more followers. Keep writing.
Greta’s work has been critically important and very successful. But even she knows it’s not enough. We must build on it, and take the next steps. Even now, it’s still pretty much only young people like you who show the maturity, intelligence and caring required to effectively restore the stability of the climate.
Certainly, the adult decision-makers continue with their tunnel vision, their misplaced “pragmatism” that denies the reality of chemistry itself, and their tiresome excuses for decades of failure that continues unabated to this day.
For millions, Greta has vaporized those excuses. When those failed leaders speak, we say blah blah blah—as we should.
We see that our house is on fire and the “firefighters” are just hanging out, smoking. Or worse, committing arson.
But millions who are ready to act don’t know what to do. Your writing begins to point the way. Keep in mind that more and more people will be experiencing the Earth’s fury directly and personally. This very summer looks like it may be hot and dry and even now—in May—huge wildfires are already burning in Colorado, New Mexico and elsewhere.
Keep up the good work and thank you.
