No one thing will fix the climate. The most important thing is to stop burning fossil fuels. That said, gasoline powered vehicles cannot be run on clean energy.

Other problems—like lithium batteries—will need to be solved regardless of what cars we operate. They are less dire than the burning of fossil fuels itself. Also, scientists are actively looking for solutions. But our “leaders” continue to fail to stop burning fossil fuels after more than 40 years of warning.
