Nuclear destruction IS a real and still present danger. We must prevent that.

However, we HAVE a history of avoiding nuclear disaster. We have no history of making any reasonable effort to stop climate collapse.

Yes, not everyone will be killed and the Earth will remain inhabitable, at least for some undetermined amount of time. But that's little consolation. Either living on a hellish planet, or dying on it—well, neither is acceptable.

I don't know whether 9 months in prison would rid us of Trump or not. But I think 9 months in prison for a guy nearing 80 would be different than 9 months for an angry young man. I believe there's more risk from NOT imprisoning a budding tyrant than simply letting him go.
