Of course SOME women are going to support patriarchy because women, like any other group, isn't a uniform monolith.

That said, I still think that men are more responsible for the current prominence of destructiveness of patriarchy. Men, in huge numbers, chose to vote for a known rapist.

These men picked a criminal thug over the wellbeing of their own spouses and daughters.

Those men are, for the most part, beyond hope. BUT it's the men who actually care who need to rally to the support of women, to DEMAND equal rights for them, to DEMAND protection for women against threats and intimidation.

These men who care are distracted, overwhelmed with other problems, and can't do everything. But now would be a great time for these men to speak out regularly and visibly and LOUDLY for equal rights, and to put misogynists on the defensive.

Recently, I attended an anti-fascism rally here in Philadelphia. Yes, I oppose the fascists and want our illegal overseers, Trump and Musk, removed from their positions and held accountable for their crimes.

BUT I carried a sign that said: "Real Men DEMAND Equal Rights FOR WOMEN." I carried 5 such signs and found four other men to carry the other 4. It's a small step, but I think men everywhere should look for opportunities to visibly speak out so everyone can see that millions of men aren't weak cowardly a-holes who'd sell out their own wives and daughters.
