Oh, yes! People conveniently forget that King was anti-war, that he led a poor people’s campaign. They forget that his resistance was NOT passive, but very VERY active. That his movement took control of events. That politicians ultimately passed civil rights laws and began enforcing those laws BECAUSE HE LEFT THEM NO CHOICE.

People continue to dismiss the power of properly wielded MORAL FORCE even though King and others defeated “great men” (sic) like George Wallace and Bull Connor. Even though Gandhi used moral force to oust the mighty British empire from India.

Many of us DO understand King and his values and his strategies. We are inspired by him and will achieve his dream. And we are not fooled by the tepid version of him portrayed by mostly white “leaders” used to perpetuate the outrages that continue to this day.
