Our leaders aren’t considering ANY solutions. And we could slash C02 emissions immediately by not producing mountains of commodified crap. We could stop eating beef—today.

Your scenario is a word game; I know you are sincere but you are mistaken.

You are positing a false dichotomy. But you are right about one thing—there will be some terrible suffering.

That’s because we’ve been dancing on the Titanic instead of mobilizing lifeboats. The failure to act, decade after decade, wasted critical time.

While cities will disappear along with huge numbers of lives—not from ending fossil fuels, but from continuing them.

In 1988, a climate scientist explained the issue and what needed to be done. Policymakers did the opposite. In 2000, the majority of American voters chose a climate activist as their president. The Supreme Court overruled them and installed an oil man.

The reality is that we either stop fossil fuels or we die. There are consequences either way, but most of the inevitable suffering is now unavoidable.

We chose to race towards extinction. We could seriously try to stop running—or we could continue at top speed to the finish line…which is a cliff.

A Climate Declaration
