You need actual plans but they needn’t and can’t be that specific. Fortunately, to fill the gap all you need are genuinely kind and empathetic values.
Members of the status quo — any status quo — have a tired and dishonest argument for retaining power and changing little or nothing. Oh, yes they use the familiar (and generally false) trope that “it’s always been this way.” But I’m talking about another argument.
And that is:
“What are you going to do instead?”
And, of course, you don’t have answers for every possible scenario. It’s also true that nobody has a complete and thorough plan for bringing about fundamental change or running a society in a new and better way.
But we have enough and that IS enough. That (ridiculous) argument against making fundamental improvements to a deadly civilization ignores the salient fact: the status quo has no plan either, and is presiding over — and driving — the destruction of the climate and biosphere.
