Psychology is interesting, and we need to separate the fanciful from the real. I’m not sure how we define the end of the world, but we have faced (and so far avoided) situations that would have turned life on Earth into a living hell. Nuclear war and climate collapse are two such threats. Both are still dangerous and, at the moment, there is no credible effort being made to avoid climate collapse.
So, let’s study psychology. But let’s also take genuine dangers seriously and take serious action to prevent the worst.
