Script For A Protest Aimed At Building A Giant Popular Climate Movement

First we recruit. Then we save the Earth.

Together with a small (but growing) group of people called the Earth Rebirth Team, we are working on a plan to save the world. Of course, we can’t do this alone. We have realistic expectations. Our small group won’t achieve anything like this. But a big group — something like a billion people — can.

We recognize and deeply appreciate the existing climate efforts. But we think they need a big boost. We plan to provide that boost, take the climate movement over the top, and achieve the goal — a better sustainable world for all of us.

And so we begin recruiting.

What you need to understand is the reason we can succeed. We won’t be working to persuade people — we are seeking to “find the others.” That is, we want to find the people who understand the climate crisis, who are fearful, or angry or worried. We want to find the people who want to do something, and who see that the authorities are doing nothing. We want to reach the people who don’t (yet) know what they can do.

We want to reach the people who will be the heart of the movement. Those who feel like they are alone and powerless and are in despair. They needn’t feel that way. They aren’t alone, and once we reach significant…
