Despair is not an option.
These are challenging times. The ongoing war on women and children has reached a fever pitch, with our adversaries on the verge of erasing even the most basic rights of women and destroying the habitability of the Earth that our children will inherit. The courts are filled with cruel ideologues. Sex abusers are outnumbered by women on the Supreme Court by one — and one of those women sides with the sex abusers.
The crazies are loud and largely in control. Even an armed insurrection is being met mostly by exposure and shaming — essentially a slap on the wrist. Cruelty and ignorance is ascendant.
Admittedly, it doesn’t look good.
The System Is A Trap
Some say that it’s time to organize. We need to fight back by electing better politicians. We need to refute the arguments that seem to have won the day: Markets are freedom, climate be damned. Guns are freedom, human life be damned. Fetuses are children, women and actual children be damned. Trump is God, Jesus and ‘love one another’ be damned.
Our adversaries have seized control of the system by organizing, and stubbornly never giving an inch for decades. If we start now, it would take a long, long time to catch up — even if we execute the strategy perfectly…
