Thank you for this article. Personally, I don’t know what’s going on with UFOs. I think you are right about journalists—it’s dangerous to one’s reputation to stick your neck out on a story making such dramatic claims. Getting anything wrong would (unfairly) discredit the whole story AND the journalist.

In any case, I hope the full truth of what is (and what isn’t) known about UFOs comes out soon. I think The NY Times story has added enough credibility for more journalists to look into it—and publish.
