Thank you. I knew this story but you describe it beautifully. And it is a timely reminder.

We need courage and we need to stand up and speak out for what's right and against what's wrong today. We need to do it even if it's uncomfortable, as it is today, or dangerous—as it will be if Trump is re-elected.

I am canvassing for Harris in Pennsylvania. I don't believe in predicting events—I believe we need to act to shape events.

But whatever happens in this election. people need to stand up for humane and sane values: for valuing LIFE and our EARTH—and not money and power. We need to be powered by LOVE, not by ANGER, or HATE or FEAR.

This is the mission of The Saners. Trump is evil and must be stopped. Harris is a very good person. But our system is awash in Big Oil money and our culture has been infused with greed and selfishness and cruelty.

For this reason, even with good leaders, our civilization—worldwide, not just in the United States—is stupidly racing to oblivion. We all know that continued use of fossil fuels would result in climate collapse and the collapse has begun.

Much damage has been done and is irreversible. But WE can prevent the worst, and replace our stupid civilization with a better one, allowing our children and grandchildren to have better lives—and not suffer on a post-apocalyptic planet.

We, like Sophie, are dedicated to nonviolent noncooperation. This is the force that has humbled empires, removed dictators and allowed good to triumph over evil many, many times.
