To those criticizing them, what are YOU doing? Lead, follow or get outta the way!
I’m tired of people who criticize nonviolent protests but never make any meaningful efforts to stop or impede those who are destroying the climate and destroying everyone’s children’s future.
My question for these people is: Do you love your children? If so, why aren’t you DOING anything?
Honestly, if someone needs to justify themselves, it’s not people who throw soup on the glass protected paintings. It’s the people who give the okay to petro-profiteering plutocrats to cook the Earth.
Remember how people denounced Colin Kaperknick for protesting police brutality against black people by bending a knee? Has their ever been a more modest, peaceable protest?
And yet he was lambasted for it. His NFL career was ended. It wasn’t about his tactics. When people oppose your cause, they complain about your tactics.
No painting was damaged by climate protesters and taking a knee hurt nobody. If anything, these protests were far too mild. But that’s fine. Any effective protest must upset people, must make them uncomfortable — or it will be completely ignored and will be ineffective.
