We are at war against the young in the most unforgivably way: we are rapidly destroying the planet they will inherit. And we are doing so consciously, knowingly—NOT out of ignorance.
We were warned many times, year after year, by scientists and by the increasingly frequent and severe heatwaves, droughts, floods and other disasters.
Of course, our leaders and the systems that support them are the engine of destruction. But we also support them. WE do all the work: businessmen and politicians simply make demands, and we carry them out.
We need to think, and withdraw our support, slow down our "work" that's destroying the planet and dooming our children. We need to speak out loudly and consistently.
We CAN do this. Ordinary people—the sane and caring people—have done this repeatedly throughout history. People like you and me have removed dictators and humbled empires. We can do it non-violently (and indeed that's the ONLY way.) Big Oil and a bunch of sheiks, plutocrats, despots...they are no match for us. WE do everything—mining, drilling, refining, and purchasing. Once WE stop, the whole deadly system stops.
What's happening to our children and our planet is insane, and some of us are planning to end this insanity and replace this garbage with a sane, humane civilization that respects and cares for Life and Nature—and especially our children.
