Thanks for this. It is SO important to me to NOT focus on loud angry people, whatever their views. I am WAY to your left (although I’m simplifying quite a bit) and YOU are the kind of person that gives me hope.

Like everyone, I sometimes get angry and I’m, let’s say, less than my best self. But I believe in what you are proposing here—that we try to understand each other and recognize that most people—including those with views opposite our own—generally have good intentions.

Whatever our views, we share essentially the same human condition and live on this same Earth.

We can do better. Thanks for reminding all of us to try.
