The author of this article and pretty much every single person in a major position of authority is clueless about the severity and urgency of this crisis.

The last few days were the hottest in MORE THAN 100,000 years. It’s really bad and it’s going to get a whole lot worse very very soon. And still people who are supposed to be smart are making excuses and talking about how hard it will be to make a transition and that we will have to discuss it more, plan more, and work out something and maybe, some day, we might do something that slows our race to oblivion.

The Earth is screaming at us that OBLIVION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

Everyone was warned, all the leaders, when James Hansen testified before Congress in 1988. We’ve had nothing but excuses, delays and lies from our leaders—all of them in every country—ever since.

I’m done listening and I’m done waiting for leaders to suddenly become competent and responsible. They won’t. They are incapable of it, and we’d be insane to trust them.

It’s up to US, ordinary people around the world, people who do all the work, people who have left policy and decisions up to the leaders they voted for—up to now.

Now is the time for defiance, for speaking out boldly, and for becoming visible with non-cooperation, with dissent, with direct action to protect Nature against Her enemies. The lives of our children, of future generations and of all the creatures of the biosphere depend on US. We need to start and if we show determination, others will join. This is the only way.
