Our leaders are insane but so is the media. And they are anti-Earth.
I keep reading that some ruling or legislation is a victory or defeat for “environmentalists.” In this fictional world of pundits and talking heads and, well, alleged “news” media, people who want a habitable Earth are a small group of advocates holding a particular political position.
They are a somewhat fringe group of (sometimes) extremists called “environmentalists.” In a strange and absurd world of moral equivalence, environmentalists are no better or worse than petroleum promoters — albeit the latter are more realistic and pragmatic.
This is, of course, literally insane. Protecting the planet from complete and utter devastation isn’t just another issue for a special issue group. It’s a fundamental concern of every sane and caring human being on the planet. And making excuses and promoting new oil fields in 2023, when climate collapse is clear and obvious to all but the most self-deluded ideologue, is a crime against humanity.
