In a corny and fanciful episode from the original Star Trek, the captain, crew and even their Klingon opponents laugh at a “powerful” alien who set them up to fight each other. The powerful enemy, one that thrives on hate, is vanquished.
Here on Earth in the real world, leaders everywhere are intentionally dividing us and setting us against each other, in service of the leader’s own greed and lust for power. This tactic has been largely working, but we will change that. We can change that for ourselves today. Right now.
By we, I mean you and me and everyone who reads these words and wants to begin changing the world for the better. I mean people who are done waiting for leaders to do the right things, and people who are beginning to see that ordinary people have unrealized power — because we DO ALL THE WORK and the allegedly powerful people (and systems) owe all their power to our cooperation.
We cannot force others to stop cooperating with those who are poisoning the Earth with oil and gas and coal, but we can start taking action ourselves and set an example for others. The most important thing we can do…
